More about the artist:
Cornelis Brandenburg is one of the Netherlands' greatest creators of etchings of townscapes. Born on December 5th, 1884 in Wormerveer, he lived and worked in Amsterdam. He attended the Draughtsmanship School for Applied Art and the State Academy, later receiving etching lessons from P. Dupont. Brandenburg began as a painter of Delftware at De Distel and later a draughtsman at the Schnabel chemigraphy establishment. As an etcher, he concentrated mainly on townscapes. He died on November 18th 1954 in Amsterdam, where he was a member of Arti et Amicitiae.
Condition: The frame and print are in good pre-owned condition, the paper is evenly toned throughout, a real stunning piece, I am sorry for the funky angle some of the photos were taken in the reflection of the glass made this a bit more complicated
