Up for sale from a recent estate in Honolulu Hawaii, this Vintage Japanese color woodblock print reproduction that is titled Kōmei Bijin Rokkasen depicting a famous courtesan that was created by the famous artist Utamaro, Kitagawa (1753-1806). Kitagawa Utamaro (Japanese: 喜多川 歌麿; c. 1753 - 31 October 1806) was a Japanese artist. He is one of the most highly regarded designers of ukiyo-e woodblock prints and paintings, and is best known for his bijin ōkubi-e "large-headed pictures of beautiful women" of the 1790s. ... Little is known of Utamaro's life.
Condition:
The print is overall in good pre-owned condition, some creasing on the left edge that needs to be pressed out, two small worm holes, even toning throughout, small stamp on the lower verso
