Up for sale from a recent estate in Hawaii, this Japanese framed and matted color woodblock print that is titled Kamitsuke no Katana, from Kyodo risshi no motoi (Moral of success) depicting three figures in a interior that was created by the well known artist Kobayashi Kiyochika (1847-1915). Kobayashi Kiyochika, (born September 10, 1847, Asakusa, Edo [now Tokyo], Japan-died November 28, 1915, Kyōto), Japanese printmaker who adopted the effects of Western lithography and engraving, especially in his wood-block prints. Kobayashi first studied Japanese painting and later oil painting as well as photography.
