Up for sale from a recent consignor in Honolulu Hawaii this 1980s original French/Jewish/ Hawaii Outsider Art pen and ink painting on paper that is untitled depicting Jewish family in an interior and was created by the artist Claude Vedel. More about the artist:
I received a consignment of about 175 paintings by Claude Vedel, a French Jewish artist living in Honolulu. The artist was a unique character. The collection included journals and artwork although currently only the paintings are offered for sale. After reading some of the journals and long essays written on the back of many of the paintings, it became clear the artist had perhaps reached the limit where eccentricity blurs with madness. This collection is the very definition of "Outsider Art". Many of the paintings have page long inscriptions on their backs which illustrate the artists thoughts and feelings. I hope you enjoy looking. I am delighted to be giving the artwork a exhibit space since the artist works have not been seen by the public.
Condition:
The item is overall in acceptable pre-owned condition, there is a 3 inch long slid in the center of the paper, the some photos were taken with flash and some photos were taken without, the painting is inscribed by the artist front and back sharing his thoughts...some of it is illegible to me
