Up for sale from a recent estate in Honolulu Hawaii, this Antique American or European period framed oil on canvas painting depicting a tranquil country road and small bridge with a figure walking away from the viewer and a Church steeple in the distance that is signed by the artist F. Davies. I cannot find an artist with that name that would correspond to the age of the canvas (see verso photos). The painting is based on the canvas over 100 years old. Condition:
The painting and frame are overall in acceptable pre-owned condition, the canvas has a small tear (center of the middle by the road tree) that will need to be patched the frame is antique and has some losses to the finish in places, the canvas and frame are in original somewhat dirty condition and would benefit from a thorough cleaning, the tear is about ½ inch long and can only be found if you really look for it
