Up for auction from a recent client in Honolulu Hawaii this group of 1910 COLOR photographs with scenes from Japan, Kobe, Nara, Yawada island, Futami Isles and more (please read the captions under each photograph). These photos were taken by my client's great aunt and her family and friends, who went on an extended trip from the US to Hawaii to Japan, to China and Korea from March to October of 1910. They traveled via cruise-liner, car and railroad. My client's aunts family made their fortune in railroad business in the U.S. She loved taking photos that offered insights into the country and life of its people that not many foreigners were able to experience at the time. When describing the photos, I will not count any photos that were damaged. That means even if you see 8 photos on a page and only 4 are described, the un-described photos are in less then perfect condition. Most of the album pages are marked with their geographic location, but with the old names that do not resemble current names. An Asian arts appraiser helped come up with most of the current names and place descriptions. The photos will be mailed wedged in between cardboard packed watertight and centered in a box that is filled with foam chips. For International buyers I only offer Priority and Express mail due to tracking and insurance options. I combine shipping that means any additional album page will incur only $1 extra charge on top of the first pages shipping price. The more you buy the cheaper shipping will get!!!
