Up for sale from a recent estate in Hawaii, this 1970s Hawaii Koa hardwood framed oil on canvas painting that is untitled but depicts a group of young oriental women getting ready for an event and was painted by locally well known artist Wilson Young Stamper (1912-1988). When Willson Young Stamper was born on 5 January 1912, in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States, his father, Willson Young Stamper, was 23 and his mother, Marguerite R Malcolm, was 21. He married Mabelle Mildred Richardson on 25 May 1934. He immigrated to Honolulu, Oahu, Honolulu, Hawaii Territory, United States in 1947 and lived in New York City, New York, United States in 1935 and Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, United States in 1940. He registered for military service in 1928. In 1940, at the age of 28, his occupation is listed as art teacher. He died on 31 October 1988, in Albemarle, Virginia, United States, at the age of 76.
Condition:
The painting is overall in good pre-owned condition, the Koa wood frame though is in rough shape the corners are damaged, the frame is stable but in need of some serious TLC, the canvas is in original unrestored condition, it would benefit from a cleaning and varnishing but it is not necessary
