Hanae Uechi Mills was born in Honolulu in 1952 and received a BFA in printmaking, 1975 and an MFA in ceramics, 1986 from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Influenced by the teaching style of Buddhism, Mills explores ordinary objects beyond what is normally perceived.

The painting is a mixed media piece, the upper textured part is made of crushed egg shells, it is mounted agains a backing, it will need a new mat cut and a frame
