Up for sale from a recent consignor in Honolulu Hawaii this 1972 Vintage Hawaii framed oil on masonite painting that is titled "Mountain Cove" depicting a river landscape with a small house and mountains in the background that was created by the locally well known artist Charles Marek (1891-1979). Born August 8, 1891 at Malsice, Czechoslovakia. Son of Joseph J. and Barbara Bohak Marek. Educated in Czechoslovakia, he graduated from a three year course at Meyer Both College, Chicago. Shortly after coming to Hawaii in 1915, Mr. Marek worked as a Fire control and later Topographical Draftsman in military service.
