Up for sale from a local estate in Honolulu Hawaii this 1940s Hawaii Matson shipping line menu that is titled "Lei Vendor" and was created by the well known artist Frank McIntosh (1901-1985). The condition is described above...for more details please check the photos. This is the first of 5x prints from that series that is listed in our store.

More about the artist:

After graduating from the California School of Fine Arts, McIntosh had a studio in San Francisco 1923-24. He produced much of the Matson Line's advertising art. He then continued his studies in New York City and Paris.

By the early 1930s he had moved to Los Angeles where he was on the faculty at the Chouinard Art Institute. In 1940 he had a studio in New York City.

During the 1960s he had a gallery in Los Angeles dealing with Oriental paintings and objet d'art.

He died in Santa Cruz, CA on May 29, 1985.

Condition: 

The menu is original and from the 1940s, the print was not inspected out of the frame, there are some losses to the paper surface in places, the colors are strong
