Up for sale from a recent client in Honolulu Hawaii, this 1930s Hawaii aquatint print depicting Waikiki palms illuminated by moonlight and was created and is signed in pencil by the "god-father" of Hawaii print making Huc M. More about the artist:
Best known as a printmaker and teacher who lived in Hawaii during the 1920s and 1930s, Huc-Mazelet Luquiens was also the author, in 1928, of Copper Plate Printing, a pamphlet that was the Honolulu Academy of Arts first publication.
Luquiens was a member of the faculty of the University of Hawaii, where, in the 1925-26 school year, art instruction was offered for the first time. He later was named the head of the art department, and was largely responsible for attracting qualified

The item is overall in good pre-owned condition, it has mat burn but is otherwise clean no brown spotting, some slight waviness in the margins
