Up for sale from a recent consignor in Honolulu Hawaii, this 1914 California San Francisco cityscape watercolor painting on paper that depicts houses on a steep hillside above warehouses and harbor with ships in the distance. The condition is described above for more information please check the photos. The item comes from the estate of the well known Hawaii print makes John Melville Kelly and based on the pencil written note was probably a gift by the artist.

More about the artist:

Born in San Francisco, CA on April 27, 1884. Lillian was the wife of Ward Dwight and a lifelong resident of her native city. For five years she studied at the local Institute of Art. During the 1920s she was a student of and associated with Miguel Covarrubias on Vanity Fair. She died on Oct. 13, 1933.

Condition: 

The item is overall in acceptable pre-owned condition, the paper is heavily toned with some foxing in places, but is painted on heavy watercolor paper, it should be professionally cleaned, the is another piece from the estate of the well know Hawaii artist John Melville Kelly and was a gift by the artist, I photographed all but one piece without flash, the last photo shows the painting photographed with flash,
