Florence Edith Whitefield was born in New York in November 1864.
The Whitefield family had settled in San Francisco by 1880. Florence studied there at the School of Design and worked as an artist until the 1906 earthquake.
A spinster, she died in Oakland, CA on May 21, 1915.
