Up for sale from a recent estate in Honolulu Hawaii, this 1870s Japanese Rising Dragon and double flag motif large size coin. I could not find a image on the net with a similar coin...I am not sure if they are white brass or silver. If you know please contact us. Due to the corana virus I was not able to have this coin and the group of similar coins that are listed in our store authenticated by a specialist. These coins have been faked for decades and although based on photos of comparable pieces this coins looks to be authentic I am not a specialist and hope that collectors of these coins that see this listing can scrutinize the photos and let me know in case there is any indication this piece is less likely to be authentic. Condition:
The coin is in good pre-owned condition, it is very dirty and tarnished (but I leave it to the winning bidder to clean it), I could not find a comparable coin with the double flag motif (???) I had a hard time finding the exact date of the coin due to not being able to read the Japanese characters, in case there is in formation I forgot to mention please contact me, I have read up on a lot of coin forums and this kind of coin has been faked a lot please scrutinize the coin and its design and see if this is real or a later copy (non of my usual contacts are available to find out a more definite answer)
